Porritt Stadium, Hamilton
The WaiBOP Football women’s team is back in familiar territory this weekend after two weeks on the road and Head Coach, Juan Propato, is looking for another positive result.
“I was really happy with our effort last Sunday in Dunedin. Our 1st half performance was the best that we played so far this season,” reflected Propato. “I’m sure this team will keep improving week by week as they have much more to offer.”
The visit of defending champions, Mainland Pride, looms as WaiBOP’s biggest test of the season. “This week we have trained really well. And we needed to because we have our toughest game of season on Sunday,” offered Propato. “Mainland have set the standard in this league over the last couple of seasons, both on and off the field. They’re a quality all-round outfit. It’s great for us to get the chance to test ourselves against the best this weekend in what will be an excellent measure of our progress over the course of the season.
“We are ready to face the challenge, though, and I believe if everyone plays to their full potential we can win this game. A win won’t secure a spot on the play-offs but it will give us a boost of confidence and belief to achieve our goal.”
