The WaiBOP Football women’s team heads into a do-or-die ASB Women’s League fixture this weekend when they welcome the NZF Development side to Hamilton’s Gower Park. Head Coach, Juan Propato, is relishing the challenge while also knowing that defeat will rule his side out of the play-offs.

“Last Sunday’s defeat by Mainland was a tough one, but we’ve moved on and are now looking to this weekend’s game to make amends,” said Propato. “We’ve had a great week at training and we are now focused on the most important game of the season for us.”

Propato is fully aware of the challenge his team will be presented with at Gower Park. “The NZF Development squad is a young, really talented and skilful team. They are improving week by week and they have a great coach. In my opinion it is the best under-17 squad in the last five years, is showing the results of the Whole of Football Plan.

“It will be a great game to watch and this time we need to get the three points if we want to achieve our goal of making the play-offs. I believe in this group and I’m very sure that my players will give 110% this weekend.”
