Wanderers Youth 1-4 WaiBOP Utd Youth – ASBYL

The Bay SportsMed WaiBOP United Youth Team has returned emphatically to form with a comfortable win at QBE Stadium over Wanderers SC.

We went behind midway through the first half before Dylan Bull got us back on level terms then Jono Viviani pushed us ahead right on half time.

Two second half goals from Viviani, an absolute screamer, and Connor Probert, gave us a well deserved win and helped the lads put last week’s performance against Canterbury United behind us.

Assistant coach Paul Probert, who took the reins for this match due to head coach Paul Drake being on duty at Eden Park with the 1st team, was really happy after the match. “The boys did a great job today. To weather the early storm then score four goals, coming from a goal down against an energetic and talented young side, was great,” said Probert.

“We were back to our best and it was pleasing to watch. It’s just a shame we’ve slipped up a few too many times as we should be in the mix right at the top.”

Connor Probert was a standout for the side, while stand-in captain, Scott Hilliar, led the side from the front and Nate Kinney organised a solid performance from the back four.
