Fresh from their largest victory of the ASB Youth League season the Bay SportsMed WaiBOP United youth team heads to Mangere Centre Park on Sunday knowing that a result against Auckland United will put them in pole position to finish second in the Northern Conference.
This is the penultimate match of the season and youth team head coach, Paul Drake, believes it’s important his team finishes their debut season as strongly as possible. “We’ve picked up some good results this year, particularly over the last few weeks and I’d like to think we can carry this form through to our final two games,” he said. “We know Auckland United will be a tough proposition, particularly on their own patch. There was nothing between the two teams when we played earlier in the season and I expect something similar on Sunday.”
The match will be played at Centre Park, Mangere, on Sunday March 2. Kick-off is at 4pm.
The youth team’s final match is at home against Waitakere United. The match will be played at the Matamata Domain on Saturday March 8, with a 2pm kick-off.
