WaiBOP’s ASB Women’s League season is over for another year after a heavy defeat in their second consecutive game containing eleven goals.
This time, however, we didn’t have the nail-biting finish as the NZF Development side put in a rampant, clinical second half performance to run away with the game.
But it could have been so different, particularly after we led three times thanks to goals from Paige Satchell and Tayla Christensen, who scored twice.
After Christensen netted her second just after the re-start the visitor put their foot down, rattling home four goals in 14 minutes to make the game safe and send us tumbling out of play-off contention.
We have one final game; at Northern next Sunday.
