The WaiBOP United youth team host Hawkes Bay United on Sunday in their second home game of the 2015 ASB Youth League.
After picking up their first win of the season and moving into the top six last time out, the team had a weekend off due to the club-based U-19 Youth Tournament in Napier. “It was good to see some of our players involved for their clubs in Napier but it was a bit of a shame for us because it would have been great to see us continue our momentum,” said youth team coach, Michael Built. “Having said that, it’s the same for Hawkes Bay. We’ve just got right back into it this week at training with the boys looking sharp.
“This is actually a very important match for us; a must-win if we’re serious about being one of the top teams in this league. A win could push us into the top four, which would set us up nicely to hunt down the top few sides. Anything less will see us more or less marooned.”
Entry is free, so local fans are encouraged to make their way to St Peter’s School on Sunday to support our region’s best young footballing talent.
