WaiBOP United is calling for expressions of interest from young footballers interested in playing for our Youth Team this summer.
To qualify for the youth team, players must be born on or after January 1, 1995.
We require the following details:
• Player’s name.
• Date of birth.
• Preferred position.
• Current club/school.
• Contact email address.
• Contact phone number (preferably mobile).
Prospective players must register their interest no later than 4pm on Monday August 31.
We’ll be holding squad trials on Wednesday September 2 and Wednesday September 9. Successful applicants will be notified of the venues. The trials will begin at 6.30pm.
We’re aware the secondary schools tournaments run during the week of September 2, which is why we’ve organised two trials.
The ASB Youth League is played from the start of October to the end of December. No games are played over Labour Weekend, which allows players to attend the U-19 Youth Championships in Napier with their club teams.
Our youth team is an important bridge to ASB Premiership football. Involvement with the youth team means players are only one step away from national league football. Over the last two seasons seven youth team players have made their 1st team debuts for WaiBOP United.
