Bay SportsMed WaiBOP United also secured back-to-back wins to start the season, a 3-2 victory over defending champions Auckland City coming at St Peter’s College in Cambridge thanks to goals from Dylan Bull, Scott Hilliar and Reid Drake.
Bull drew the scores level in the 35th minute after the visitors had opened the scoring 20 minutes into the game, and that’s how it stayed until half time.
Auckland went ahead for a second time after the break but Scott Hilliar headed home from a corner for WaiBOP’s second equaliser, before captain Reid Drake stroked home the winner.
